Keeper McLean in the home goal was closed down by Smart and as the striker was about to score he was pulled to the ground 6 yards from goal. Smart got up to find the corner of the net. Minutes later it was all square after a cross was sent in Fyfe was clearly fouled but the match official gave nothing, one of many strange decisions by the official. and Hendry headed in from close. A McGregor header brought a fine save from Fyfe getting down low to his left. A great ball from Smart along the six yard box but there were no takers in the middle. Just on the stroke of half time Maud were in front again when Hall fizzed a ball out to Fraser who drove into the box and his cut back was met by Hale whose left foot shot found the net

  HT 1 – 2.

McGregor tried to score from a tight angle, but his shot went into the side netting. A Clark slip let in Mitchell, but his effort was a tame one. Fraser tried a shot from distance but was well wide. A Hale cross from the right was met by Smart who fired over from 18 yards. The home side drew level from a corner Fyfe tried to punch clear under pressure but could only punch into his own net. Haines was lucky to stay on the field when he made a horrendous tackle from the back on Whyte but the official only gave him a caution. Whyte managed to get back up to play on. A long ball to the far left where McGregor was unmarked and slotted past Fyfe. The home side sealed all 3 points scoring a fourth with a superb free kick from 20 yards give Fyfe no chance.
